John Eames

John was born in 1887 at Hucknall Torkard and was the son of George a collier hewer and Mary Eames née Wilkinson of 15 Bertram Street, Meadows, Nottingham. His father George was born in 1849 in TIckhill (or Greasley depending on the census looked at) and his mother Mary Wilkinson was born in 1851 at Langwith, they were married in 1872 , their marriage was recorded in the Ashby de la Zouch registration area. His mother had a child Charles Wilkinson born 1871 at Tickhill prior to her marriage to George. Charles and Mary had 13 children , sadly two died in infancy or childhood, their surviving children recorded in the 1881- 1911 census were : - Sarah Ann b1873 Blackwell, Harriett b 1876 Blackwell, Emily b1878 Blackwell, Clara b1879 Blackwell, James b1881 Langwith, Mary b1883 Hucknall, John b1887 Hucknall, William b1888 Hucknall, Thomas b1892 Hucknall and Eliza b1895 Hucknall. In 1901 and 1911 the family were living at 51 Bertam Street, Meadows, Nottingham.
