Reginald Dowell was born in 1892 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late George Henry Dowell a lace maker and Mary Ellen Dowell née Elliott of Hugglestone Yard, Nottingham. George Dowell was born in 1859 at Chard, Somerset, he died in 1897 at Chard, he was 38 years old, they were married on 14th May 1880 at Christ Church, Radford, Nottingham and had 5 children, Elizabeth b1881, James Robert b1882, George Edward b1890, Reginald b1892 and Beatrice b1895. Reginald married Louisa Frost in 1910 at Notingham, they had a daughter Elsie May Dowell born in 1914, however she died in 1915, they lived at 8 Rock Terrace, Manvers Street, Nottingham.

Military History

Private Reginald Dowell served with the Recruits Training Wing of the Royal Air Force, he died on 27th September 1918 at the Wool Military Hospital, Bovington Camp, Dorset. He was buried on 9th October 1918 at the General Cemetery, Nottingham.
