Family History

John Vincent Warrener was born in 1897 in Bleasby and was the son of John a postman and Frances Sarah Warrener née Foster of Lowdham Village. His father was born in 1872 in Thurgarton, his mother Frances Sarah Foster was born in 1871 in Caythorpe, Nottinghamshire, they were married in Lowdham on 14th February 1895 and went on to have 9 children , sadly one was to die in infancy, their children listed on the 1901/1911 census are John Vincent b1897 Bleasby, William Henry b1898 Hoveringham, Edith Annie b1900 Thurgarton, Frederick Arthur b1901 Thurgarton, Albert Edward b1905 Thurgarton, Frances b1906 Thurgarton and Percy Warrener b1907 Thurgarton. In the 1911 census the family are living at Thurgarton village, John is 39 yrs a postman, he is living with his wife Frances Sarah 40 yrs, John Vincent is 14 yrs and is a labourer on a farm.

Military History

Pte. Vincent Warrener, 10th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment, he died of wounds on 15th December 1915 and is buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
