Claude Albert Wood

Claude Albert Wood was born in 1879 at Nottingham and was the son of John a labourer and Sarah Ann Wood née Wills of 39 Talbot Street, Nottingham. His father John was born in 1832 at Rayleigh, Essex, his mother Sarah Ann Wills was born in 1834 in Weekly, Northamptonshire, they were married on 7th November 1853 at St Anne's Church, Tower Hamlets and went on to have the following children, Sarah Ann Elizabeth b1856 Walthamstow, Joseph Charles b1858 Leyton, Essex Edward b1859 Leyton, Essex, Kate b1872 Nottingham, Claude Albert b1879 Nottingham and Carrie b1883 Nottingham. Claude Albert married his wife Ada Salisbury (born 18th November 1881 Kilkenny, Ireland) on 31st March 1904, their marriage was recorded in the Devenport registration district, they lived at 36 Well Street, Plymouth and had a daughter Sarah Blanche born 22nd February 1905. In the 1911 census Claude and his family were living at 25 Adelaide Street, East Stonehouse and were shown as Claude 32 yrs a bill inspector, he is living with his wife Ada 30 yrs and their daughter Sally 6 yrs of age. Following Claude's death his widow Ada was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week which commenced on 3rd February 1919.
