Family History

Frederick Charles Heath was born in Enniskillen, Ireland in 1883. His parents were Samson and Sarah Elizabeth Heath and the father was probably in the army. Frederick was the eldest of their 7 children. By 1881 the family were living in the Alverstoke area and 10 years later they had moved to Worksop and were resident in 53 Marecroft. Frederick possibly had a spell in the Royal Artillery as he is recorded as living with other service personnel in their barracks in Portsmouth. By 1911 he was back with the family who had now moved to 8 Pelham Street, Worksop and working as a coal hewer filler.

Frederick enlisted in the army at Worksop. He was killed in action and remembered on the Arras Memorial, France. Research by Colin Dannatt
