Family History

John Percy Selby was the son of Arthur John Selby and Clara Shaw who married in the Basford registration district in 1891. Their children included: John Percy (b.1892), Arthur Leslie (b.1893), Elsie Marion (b.1898), Florence Clara (b.1903), Mary Elizabeth (b.1905) and Frank (b.1907). The Selby family lived at: 49 Beckenham Road, Radford [C.1901]; 44 Beckenham Road [C.1911 & CWGC]. Arthur John Selby, who worked as a lace curtain reader, died at Nottingham, aged 96, in 1958. His wife, Clara, died at Nottingham, aged 89, in 1954.

Military History

He enlisted at Colchester; he died of his injuries at a hospital in Bradford, Yorkshire; he was buried in the General Cemetery, Nottingham.
