Alfred Wheatley

Alfred Wheatley was born in 1884 at Sneinton and was the son of the late William Wheatley a dyer and Eliza Wheatley née Norman. His father William was born in 1856 at Nottingham and his mother Eliza Norman was born in 1859 also in Nottingham, they were married in 1875 at Nottingham and had the following children, Thomas b1878, Eliza b1881 and Alfred b1884 all were born in Nottingham. His father William died in 1886 he was 30 yrs of age. In the 1891 census we find that Eliza Wheatley now 36 yrs of age living at Woburn Street at Nottingham, she is shown as being a widow and a house keeper, she is keeping house for Joseph Millership 45 yrs also a widow, her 2 children Eliza Sophia 8 yrs and Alfred 6 yrs are also living at the address. His mother Eliza went on to marry Joseph Millership in 1891 in Nottingham however he died in 1906 at Nottingham aged 63 yrs. In the 1911 census we find his mother living at 1 Sneinton Hill, Nottingham, she is shown as 52 yrs a lace hand and a widow, she is living with her son William Millership 20 yrs a brick layer. At the time of Alfred's death his mother Eliza Millership is living at 31 Thorneywood Rise Marmion Road Carlton Road Nottingham.
