Ernest Archer Lowe (junior) was born in 1895 at Birkenhead, he was baptised on 3rd November 1895 at St Pauls Church, Birkenhead, he was the only son of Ernest Archer Lowe(senior) a commercial traveller (cereals) and Emma Lowe née Gregory of 6 Cambridge Park, Bristol. Ernest Archer Lowe (senior) was born in 1870 at Birkenhead, Emma Gregory was born in 1873 in India, they were married on 5th November 1894 at St Marys, Ilkeston. In the 1911 census the family are visitors at 20 Mulgrave, Street, Liverpool, they are visiting Hannah Millward 56 yrs a widow, they are shown as Ernest Archer Lowe 41yrs a commercial traveller (cereals) with his wife Emma Lowe 38 yrs and their son Ernest Archer Lowe (junior) 15 yrs a scholar.

Military History

Second Lieutenanat Ernest Archer Lowe enlisted as A Private soldier on the outbreak of the war in August 1914, he served with the 1st battalion Surrey Regiment, he was commissioned into the Lincolnshire Regiment in August 1917. He was killed in action on 26th September 1917. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial
