Frank was the son of Thomas and Mary Ann Asher. Frank marriedSarah Ellen Parker 25/09/1909. They had four children - Reginald, born 16/07/1910, Leonard, born 18/02/1812, Edwin, born 28/03/1914 and Kenneth, born 17/04/1918. Kenneth was born only 3 days before Frank's death. They lived at 6 Bowling Street, Mansfield.
