Charles William Andrews was born in 1888 he was the son of George Harry a draper dealer and Ada Andrews née Ada Elizabeth Pegg of 16 West Hill Drive, Mansfield.Charles Henry was born in 1861 at Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, Ada Elizabeth Pegg was born in 1863 at Mansfield, they were married in 1886 at Mansfield and went on to have 4 children.In 1911 the family are living at 16 West Hill Drive, Mansfield, George Harry 50 yrs is a draper/dealer, he is living with his wife Ada 48 yrs and two of their children, Charles 23 yrs a drapers assistant and Vida Mary 9 yrs of age.

Military History

Second Lieutenant Charles William Andrews served with the 10th battalion West Yorkshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 13th April 1917, having no known grave his anme is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
