Family History

He was the son of William and Annie North and the brother of Percy, Maud, Annie and Nelly North. In 1911 they lived at 72 Kirkby Street Meadows Nottingham.

Military History

Private William North, served with the 1/8th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment, he was killed in action after a mine was exploded near their position on 17th April 1916. He is buried in Ecoivres Military Cemetery, Mont St. Eloi.
