Family History

Wilfred Moult was born in 1894 he was the son of Henry a coal miner contractor and Sarah Elizabeth Moult née Dodsley and the brother of Elsie, Ellen May, Gladys, Elizabeth and Lottie Moult. Henry Moult was born in 1869 at Langley Mill, Sarah Elizabeth Dodsley was born in 1875 at Nottingham, they were married in 1893 their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration district, they went on to have 10 children, sadly 3 were to die in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 the family lived at Loscoe Wharf, Bailey Grove Langley Mill Eastwood, Henry is 42 yrs of age and a coal miner, he is living with his wife Sarah Elizabeth 36 yrs and their 7 children including Wilfred 17 yrs a coal miner ganger

Military History

Private Wilfred Moult enlisted at Ilkeston, he served with the 1st battalion Leicestershire Regiment he died of wounds on 15th May 1916 and is buried at at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
