Family History

Walter Leonard Turner married his wife Maggie Elizabeth Misson in 1916 at Marylebone, they lived at Syserston village. His pension card shows they had two children, Phoebe Misson (illegitimate child) born 12th December 1915 and Nellie Turner born 22nd May 1918. His widow was awarded a pension of 27 shillings and 11 pence a week to commence on 5th May 1919.

Military History

Sergeant Walter Leonard Turner enlisted at West London whilst residing at Newark, he served with the 17th battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps and died of influenza on 27th October 1918 he is buried at Abbeville Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France.
