Albert Hay

Albert Hay was born in 1885 at Nottingham and was the son of Edward a forman tobacconist and Emily Hay née Jones of 26 Warner Street, Radford. His father Edward was born in 1853 at Lincoln and his mother Emily Jones was born in 1861 at Boston, Lincolnshire, they were married in 1896 at Nottingham, his siblings were Edith Emma b1891 Derby, Ida b1899 Basford and Ivy Hay b1902 Basford. In the 1911 census the family lived at 26 Warner Street Radford Nottingham and were shown as Edward 58 yrs a forman tobacconist, he is living with his wife Emily 50 yrs and his children, Albert 26 yrs a spinner tobacconist, Edith Emma 20 yrs Ida 12 yrs and Ivy 9 years, Edward stated he had been married for 14 yrs and had 2 children with Emily. Albert married his wife Annie Soar in 1912 in Nottingham, they lived at 17 Suez Street, Basford, Nottingham, they went on to have a son George Edward born 16th April 1913. Following his death his widow Annie was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week which commence on 12th November 1917.
