Family History

Harry Wright was born in 1893 the son of Joseph a coal miner hewer and Mary Wright née Copeland and the brother of Sarah Hannah, Harold and Mildred Wright. Joseph was born in 1865 at Kirkby, Mary Copeland was born in 1864 in Nottinghamshire, married in 1891 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they went on to have 4 children. In 1911 the family lived at 33 Wesley Street Annesley Nottinghamshire.

Military History

Private Harry Wright enlisted at Kirkby in Ashfield, he initially served with the service number 79426 in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He died of wounds on 26th September 1917, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial
