Frederick Caldwell

Frederick was born in 1881 at Stonebroom and was the son of the late John a grocers carter and Emma Caldwell née Fearn of Langwith Junction, Derbyshire. John Caldwell was born in 1840 at Alderwalsey, Derbyshire, he died in 1888 aged 48 yrs, Emma Fearn was born in 1849 at Carsington, Derbyshire, they were married on 13th March 1871 and had 8 children, sadly 3 died in infancy or early childhood. In 1910 Frederick married Margaret Collis (born 1888) at Mansfield, they lived at 89 Coke Street, Mansfield Woodhouse, they had the following children, Joseph born 5th March 1910, John William born 27th August 1911 Ivy born 23rd January 1913, Harold Frederick born 2nd April 1914 and Ernest born 1916. In 1911 the family were living at Langwith Junction, Shirebrooks Frederick is living with is widowed mother Emma 61 yrs and his brother Joseph 32 yrs a sewage farm labour, Frederick is 30 yrs and a coal miner hewer, he is living with his wife Margaret 23 yrs and their son Joseph 1 year old. Husband of Margaret Caldwell. nee Collis, married 1910. Child Joseph born 1910. Commencing 30th October 1916 his widow Margaret was awarded a pension of 22 shillings and 6 pence a week.
