Family History

Percy Edmund Osborne was born in 1893 at Netherfield the son of Thomas James a railway goods guard and Alice Ann Osborne née Moss and the brother of Florence Annie, George Albert,Frederick Arthur, John William, Frank and Joseph Henry Osborne. Thomas James was born in 1864 at Mainford, Northamptonshire, Alice Annie MOSS WAS BORN IN 1862 at Farthingham, Northamptonshire, married on 9th January at Oxfordshire they had 7 children. In 1911 the family lived at 14 Cooper Street, Netherfield. Thomas and Alice later moved to Market Harborough, Leicestershire.

Military History

Lance Corporal Percy Edmund Osborne enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 10th battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps he was killed in action on 27th September 1915 and is buried at Royal Irish Rifles Graveyard, Laventie.

Extra Information

His brother Private 6378 Frederick Arthur Osborne also served and died in the Great War, he served with the 9th battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment and was killed in action on 10th September 1915 at Gallipoli his name is commemorated on the Helles Memorial at Gallipoli.
