Family History

Charles Thomas Warden was born in Kiveton Park near Sheffield in 1878, the son Henry E and Annie Warden. When he was only 3 years old he was resident with his older brother, Frederick, at his maternal grandparents in Maltby. By 1884, the family had moved to Misson and it was here, where Charles was taken on as a bricklayers apprentice when he was 13 years old. 10 years later, Charles was a fully fledged bricklayer living next door to Reg. Marsden, also a casualty of the war, who died 21/8/1918, and William England, on the other side, killed 1/7/1916.

Military History

Charles enlisted at Bawtry, was killed in action, aged 40 and mentioned on the Pozieres Memorial
