Family History

Percy Musson was born in 1887 and was the only son of William a farmer and the late Jane Leaper of Wellow Farm Gedling, William was born in 1853 at Stoke Bardolph, Jane Leaper was born in 1858 at Calton she died in 1906 at Nottingham aged 48 yrs, married in 1885 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district. Percy married Florence Edith Skelton (born 14th December 1885 at South Kyme) on 12th February 1907 at South Kyme, Lincolnshire. they lived at 13 Carnarvon Grove, Gedling and had two children, Florence Jane born 5th September 1907 and Mary Skelton born 14th May 1909. In 1911 the family lived at Wellow Farm, Gedling and are shown as William 58 yrs a widow and farmer, he is living with his son Percy 24 yrs a farm labourer and hs wife Florence 25 yrs and their 2 children. Commencing 17th March 1919 his widow Florence was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 5 pence a week.

Military History

Private Percy Musson enlisted at Nottingham and served with the Queens Own (Royal West Kent Regiment). He died of wounds on 8th September 1918 and is buried at St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen.
