Family History

Alfred Lindon was born in 1892 at Peckham and was the son of the late Alfred Abraham a sanitary inspector and Lucy Lindon née Pidcock of East Leake Loughborough. His father Alfred Abraham was born in 1867 at York he died in 1902 aged 36 yrs, his mother Lucy Pidcock was born in 1868 at East Leake, they were married in 1891 their marriage was recorded in the Loughborough registration district, they had the following children, Alfred b1892 Peckham, Annie b1894 King's Cross, Winifred Rose b1897 Holloway Frank Stewart b1898 Walthamstow, Walter Alan b1902 Walthamstow and Samuel George b1903 Paddington. In the 1911 census his widowed mother is living at East Leake and is shown as Lucy 45 yrs a widow and dress maker, she is living with her children, Walter Alan 9 yrs a scholar and Samuel George 8 yrs a scholar.

Military History

Corporal Alfred Lindon enlisted at Blackheath whilst residing at Lewisham, he served with the 20th County of London battalion. He died of wounds on 5th January 1916 and is buried at Mazingarbe Communal Cemetery Grave 45,
