Frederick Bowley Young Smith Bird

Frederick Bowley Young Smith BIRD as he was registered was born 1882 at Carlton. Son of Julia Bird, he was one of 15 children born to her, of whom only 8 survived. Julia was the Housekeeper to John Young a brickmaker of Carlton for several years and they appear to have had several children together, Frederick being one. By the 1901 census Frederick was working as a brickmaker whilst living at Gladstone Street, Carlton with John Young, his Mother and several of his siblings. By 1911 his Mother is living on her own at 35 Randolph Street, off Carlton Road with 3 of her children. Frederick is living with a married brother at 16 Car Street Ilkeston. He was a builder. His mother Julia Bird died in 1919 and the CWWG website states her address was 66, Station Rd., Carlton, Nottingham.
