Charles Newcomb was born in 1883 at Kelmarsh, Northampton and was baptised in Kelmarsh on 19th August 1883, he was the son of the late Charles Newcomb and Ellen Newcomb of Market Harborough. In the 1911 census , Charles Newcomb is living at 66 Bostock Avenue, Northampton, he is living with Mary Muscott 53 yrs a widow and her family, he is shown as being 25 yrs of age single and an artist - comedian. Charles was the husband of Betty Newcomb of "Myrtle", Broughty Ferry, Forfarshire.

Military History

Sergeant Charles Newcomb was residing at Dundee when he enlisted and served with the 10th battalion London Regiment. He was killed in action on 9th November 1918 and is buried Cement House Cemetery, Belgium grave reference XVIII.A.7
