Edwin Henson was born in 1880 at Nottingham and was the son of Son of Sarah Henson née Langham who died on 25th March 1934 aged 82 yrs, she is buried at St Mary's churchyard at Bunny. Edwin Henson married his wife Gwendoline Mary Stevenson (born 27th April 1883 ) on 6th February 1915 at St Mary's Church Ilkeston and they lived at 17 Corporation Street, Ilkeston, they went on to have a daughter Dorothy Ellen Beryl Henson born 2nd January 1917 .
Lance Corporal Edwin Henson enlisted at Ilkeston and served with the 1st battalion Grenadier Guards he was killed in action on 29th March 1918, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Bay 1
