Extra Information

Pte Sidney Miller Retford Times 10 September 1915 It is our painful duty to record the death of another brave young Retford warrior in Private Sidney Miller of the Sherwood Foresters, son of Mr and Mrs Miller of 12 Duke Street. Prior to enlisting last September he was a moulder at the works of Messrs W J Jenkins and Co. After training at Whitley Bay the brave lad was drafted across to France on March 26th this year. He was reported missing by the War Office after being only a short time in France, and the sad news that he was killed in action on May 9th only reached his parents on Saturday last. Deep sympathy is felt for Mr and Mrs Miller in their sad bereavement.
