Family History

He was the son of John and Hannah (died 1908) Rose. I901 they lived at 22 Young's Terrace Gordon Road Nottingham, in 1911 at 1 Young's Terrace and later at 123 Gordon Road. By 1918 John Rose was again living in Young's Terrace (at No 11).

Military History

Private Harold Arthur Rose attested at Nottingham on 15th June 1915 standing 5' 7" and weighing 123 lbs he gave his age as 28 yrs and 3 months and his address was 123 Gordon Road, Nottingham. He was posted tot he 2nd battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment On 13th September 1916 he was attached to 174th Tunnelling Coy Royal Engineers and was wounded in action 13/11/1916. He died on 27th November 1917 and was buried at Rocquigny Equancourt Road British Cemetery Grave Reference: V A 25
