Joseph Henry Dallimore was born in 1898 at Bedford and was the son of Joseph Thomas Champion Dallimore an engineering fitter and Florence Ada Dallimore née Morris of 86 Flewitt Street, Notingham. His father Joseph was born in 1865 at Lambeth,London, his mother Florence Ada Morris was born in 1875 at Loughborough, they were married in 1894 their marriage was recorded in the Loughborough registration district, they went on to have the following children, Florence b1896 Loughborough, Walter b1898 Loughborough, Joseph b1898 Bedford, Jack b1905 Nottingham, Jessie b1908 Nottingham and George b1910 Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are living at 2 Greendale Place, Walker Street, Nottingham and are shown as Joseph 46 yrs an engineering fitter, he is living with his wife Ada 34 yrs and their children, Florence 15 yrs working in the lace trade, Walter 14 yrs a chemist assistant, Joseph 12 yrs a scholar, Jack 6 yrs a scholar, Jessie 3 yrs and George 1 year old.

Military History

Private Joseph Henry Dallimore enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2nd battalion East Lancashire Regiment. He was killed in action on the 24th April 1918 and is buried at Adelaide Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneux, Departement de la Somme, Picardie, France
