Family History

Frank Cullis was born in 1893 the son of Thomas a jewellers porter and Annie Cullis née Poultney of 59 Sandy's Road Worcester. Thomas was born in 1853 in Worcester, Annie Poultney was born in 1856 at Worcester, they were married in 1879 at Worcester, they went on to have 11 children, sadly 3 died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 his parents were living at 59 Sandys Lane, Barbourne, Worcester, Thomas is 57 yrs and a jewellers porter, living with his wife Annie 54 yrs. In 1911 Frank had left the family home, he was boarding at 65 Palin Street Hyson Green Nottingham with Sarah Ann Trevitt a widowed boarding house keeper, he is shown as being 18 yrs of age single and an umbrella maker. .

Military History

Private Frank Cullis enlisted at Nottingham, whilst residing at Worcester, he was killed in action on 16th June 1915 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Ypres Menin Gate memorial, Belgium.
