Family History

Phillip Thomas Emmanuel Llewellyn was the son of Bertrand Charles a hosiery assistant and Pauline Josephine Llewellyn née Ruffell of 5 St James Mansions, Liverpool Road, Holloway. Bertrand Charles was born in 1862 at Oxford, Paulin Josephine Ruffell was born in 1866 in Chelsea, they were married on 24th August 1885 at St John's Hammersmith. In 1911 the family are living at 5 St James Manssions, Liverpool Road, Holloway, Bernard Charles is 49 yrs and a hoisery assistant, he is living with his wife Pauline 45 yrs and their son Phillip 24 yrs a rubber stamp salesman, and widowed mother in law Maria Ruffell Phillip married Lilian May Wallington (born 9th February 1888) on 19th June 1915 at St Mary's Stoke Newington, London and they lived at 142, Tollington Park, Finsbury Park, London they had a son Raymond Phillip born 8th November 1916. His widow was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week commencing 3rd March 1919.

Military History

Lance Corporal Phillip Thomas Emmanuel Llewellyn enlisted at Wood Green whilst residing at Stroud Green, London, he served with the 23rd battalion The Royal Fusiliers, he died on 30th August 1918 whilst at Nottingham, he died of pneumonia, he is buried at the Nottingham General Cemetery and is commemorated on the screen wall
