Giles Ogle

Giles Ogle was born on 18th October 1887 at Nottingham, he was baptised on 18th August 1888 at St Nichols Church, Nottingham, he was the son of George and Mary Ogle née Perry and the brother of Walter (killed in action 10/4/1918) Ogle.

His father George Ogle was born in 1845 at Westmorland, he died in 1905 at Nottingham he was 64 yrs, his mother Mary Perry was born in 1847 at Radford, they were married in 1868 at Nottingham, they had 7 children.

In 1901 they lived at 17 Ossington Street Old Radford Nottingham.

In the 1911 census Giles Ogle is a boarder he is 24 yrs of age a general carter he is boarding at 18 Valentine, Broad Marsh nottingham he is boarding with Frederick Wall 24 yrs a general carter and his wife Mable Wall 23 yrs and their son Arthur William 4 yrs of age.

In the same 1911 census his widowed mother Mary Ogle 67 yrs is living at 4 Percy Yard Hyson Green, she is living with her married daughter Harriett Beardsley 30 yrs and her huband William Beardsley 35 yrs a plasterers labourer. and their daughter Florence May 7 yrs of age.

Giles married Florence Ogle (born 28th August 1893) they lived at 2 Bloom Square, Ilkeston Road, Nottingham,

Commcing 11th June 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.
