Family history

William Johnson was born in 1886 at Nottingham, he was the husband of Florence Ada Dineson (born 20th April 1889) who were married on 25th Decemeber 1914 at Lenton Priory Church, they lived at 29 Hungerton Street, Lenton, they went on to have daughter Ethel Marie born 20th November 1915.

Commencing 30th December 1915 hiswidow was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week.

Military history

Gunner William Johnson enlisted at Dover he served with the 93rd siege battalion Royal Garrison Artillery, he died on 28th June 1918 as the result of a gun shot wound to his right forearm and pneumonia. He is buried in Basford Cemetery Nottingham (grave ref. A.1.14).
