John Everard Hydes was born in 1879 at Radford, he was the son of the late George Hydes a machinist and the late Elizabeth Hydes née Wright.
His father George Hydes was born in 1843 at Radford, he died in 1890 at Nottingham, he was 47 yrs of age, his mother Elizabeth Wright was born in 1845 at Edinstowe, she died in 1884 at Nottingham, she was 39 yrs old, they were married on 4th December 1865 at Holy Trinity Church, Lambley, Nottingham, they had 7 children.
In the 1911 census John Everard Hydes was living at 2 Garden Place, Park Street, Lenton he is 31 yrs and an inside hand machine builder he is living with his brother Henry Hydes. 43 yrs an inside hand machine builder,
Private John Everd Hydes served as Everard Hydes he enlisted on 1st February 1916 at Nottingham he was a clerk, initially serving with the service number 37816 in the Lincolnshire Regiment, later transferring to the Labour Corps, he served in France from 18th April 1917 and returned to home duties on 21st March 1918. He was discharged from the Army on 11th June 1918 he was 39 yrs of age, he was no longer fit for servce due to tuberculosis his discharge address was 219 Castle Boulevard, Nottingham, he had served for 2 yrs and 131 days.
He died on 8th August 1918, and was buried at Lenton (Holy Trinity) Churchyard Nottingham on 13th August 1918.
He died at Nottingham. their is No CWGC record.
