Family history

Thomas Hine (junior) was born in 1878 at Great Marlow, Buckinghamshire, he was the son of Thomas Hine (senior) a blacksmith of Leamington Spa, his father Thomas Hine (senior) was born in 1846 at Leamington, his mother Elizabeth Busmin was born in 1854 at Birmingham, they were married on 20th October 1872 at Leamington they went on to have 9 children.

Thomas Hine (junior) married Ada Jeffery (born 6th February 1877 ) on 6th June 1897 at St Pauls Church, Hyson Green, Nottingham, they lived at 16 Kyte Street, Lenton and had the following children, Fred born 1899 Alice born 31st January 1901, May Emma born 22nd May 1906, Thomas Albert born 1st October 1908, Ada born 18th July 1910, Elsie born 15th February 1913 and Alfred born 2nd May 1915.

In 1911 the family lived at 2 Gordon Place Park Street Lenton Nottingham, Thomas 33 yrs is a tinsmith he is living with his wife Ada 34 yrs a blouse machinist, they are living with their children, Fred 12 yrs a scholar Alice 11 yrs a scholar, May 5 yrs, Thomas 23 yrs and Ada 8 months old.

Commencing 17th July 1916 his widow was awarded a pension of 29 shillings a week.

Military history

Private Thomas Hine enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 12th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he landed in France on 29th August 1915 and was accidentally drown on 25th December 1915, he is buried at Serques Church Yard, France.
