Frederick Hackford was born on 3rd August 1888 at Boston, he was the son of the late William Edward Hackford a painter and the late Emma Hackford née Dring.
His father William Edward was born in 1857 at Boston, he died in 1903 at Nottingham he was 46 yrs of age, his mother Emma Dring was born in 1858 at Boston, she died in 1908 at Nottingham she was 50 yrs of age, they were married in 1878 at Boston, they had 6 children.
He was living at 71 Sneinton Dale, Nottingham in the 1911 census , he is 22 yrs single and a pawnbrokers assistant he is living with Frank Richardson 29 yrs a furniture manufacturer and his wife Edith 27 yrs and their daughter May Annie Richardson 6 yrs of age,
His pension recrod card shows his dependent to be Edith Richardson 13 Elmsthorpe Avenue Lenton Boulevard, Nottingham, she is described as his foster mother
His probate was proven at Nottingham on 15th August 1917, it shows him as Hackford Frederick of 13th Elmsthorpe Avenue, Lenton, Nottingham, Private in H.M. Army died on 10th June 1917 in France, his effects of £53 ponds 14 shillings and 1 pence were left to Edith Richardson (wife of Frank richardson )
Private Frederick Hackford enlisted at Coventry, Warwickshire, he initially served with the service number 2813 in the Machine Gun Corps, he was serving with 'C' Coy (Heavy Bty Tank Corps) when he died of wounds on 10th June 1917, he is buried at Etaples Military Cemetery Grave Reference: 25 H 4
