Harry Attenborough

Harry Attenborough was born on 26th May 1890 at New Lenton, Nottingham, he was the son of Wilfred Brown Attenborough a levers card puncher and Emma Attenborough née Coxon of Faraday Road, Lenton.

His father Wilfred was born in 1866 at Lenton, his mother Emma Coxon was born in 1867 at Shardlow, Derby,they were married in 1886 and went on to have 4 children, sadly 1 was to die in infancy or early childhood.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 106 Faraday Road, Lenton, Wilfred is 45 yrs a levers ard puncher in lace manufacturing, he is living with his wife Emma 44 yrs and their children, Harold 11 yrs a scholar and Doris 5 yrs of age.

Harry Attenborough was the husband of Lizzie Foster (born 30th January 1893 at Lincoln) whom he married in 1910 at Nottingham, they had a daughter Ada Turner Attenborough born 17th July 1911 at Nottingham.

In the 1911 census they lived at 2 Holland Place Ilkeston Road Radford Nottingham Harry 20 yrs is a coal miner loader, he is living with his wife Lizzie 18 yrs, Harry states he has been married one year and has had 1 child.

His pension reocrod card shows the guardian of his daughter Ada is Margaret Hendrick of Margareth House, Old Lenton. it states widow left soldier with his child, who was taken into care of his mother,
