Albert Taylor was born on 22nd August 1895, he was baptised on 6th September 1895 at St Peers & St Paul Sheffield, he was the son of William Frank Taylor a machine engineer and Isabella Taylor née Burton of 112 Abbeydale Road, Sheffield.
His father William Frank was born in 1848 at Sheffield, his mother Isabella Burton was born in 1864 at Sheffield, they were married in 1885 at Sheffield they went on to have 7 children, sadly two were to die in infancy or early childhood.
In the 1911 census the family were living at 112 Abbeydale Road, Sheffield, his father William Frank 63 yrs is a machine fitter he is living with his wife Isabella 47 yrs and their children, Sidney 18 yrs a music porter, Albert 15 yrs a wood turner, Ernest 12 yrs a scholar and Lillian 9 yrs of age.
Private Albert Taylor attested on 1st July 1912 at Sheffield, giving his adddress as 112 Abbeydale Road, Sheffield his age was 17 years old. Posted to the Yorks and Lancashire Regiment he landed in France on 13th April 1915, and was killed in action on 16th October 1915. he is buried at Baird Cottage Cemetery.
