Matthew Marshall , who submitted Noble's headstone photograph, notes

'John H Noble was a cousin of my great grandfather, so is a distant relative (my 1st cousin three times removed).

My great grandfather - John Edward Noble, Pte 35909, RAMC - was also from Nottinghamshire and was killed in 1917, but he's not in your database as he was residing in Derbyshire at the outbreak of WW1.

Another of my great grandfather's cousins - Cecil Noble, Pte 39784, Leicestershire Regt - was also killed. He has no known grave, but is commemorated on a CWGC panel in France. NB

All three were born in Girton, Nottinghamshire and are all buried in the same small region in France.'

NB. Cecil Noble enlisted from Stapleford, Nottinghamshire and is commemorated elsewhere on this website. David Nunn
