Albert Walters

Albert Walters was born in 1890 at Nuthall he was the son of Arthur a coal dresser and Elizabeth Walters née Cooper and the brother of Ellen, Sidney, Frank and Phyllis Walters. In 1911 they lived on Main Street Nuthall Nottinghamshire.

His father Arthur was born in 1865 at Great Chisil, Essex his mother Elizabeth Cooper was born in 1866 at Scaldwell, Northampton, they were married on 15th October 1887 at St Patrick Church, Nutall, they went on to have 7 children, sadly 1 was to die in infancy or early childhood.

In the 1911 census the family lived at Main Street, Nuthall, Arthur 46 yrs is a coal dresser, he is living with his wife Elizabeth 45 yrs and their children, Ellen 23 yrs mother helper, Albert 21 yrs a coal miner holer, Sidney 15 yrs a bottler, Doris 9 yrs , Frank 8 yrs and Phyllis 3 yrs old.

He was the husband of Edith Chapman (born 14th January 1891) whom he married on 22nd July 1916 at St Helen Church, Stapleford, they lived at Main Street, Nuthall.

Commeincing 21stJanuary 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week, at this date she was living at Straws Lane, Eat Bridgeford.
