Family History
Arthur Langley was born in 1896 the son of Thomas a coal miner and Fanny Langley, née Bishop. Arthur Langley snr was born in 1864 in Kimberley Fanny Bishop in 1857 at Tutsbury, Staffordshire. Married in 1890, they had 4 children, 2 surviving infancy - Thomas William b.1895 and Arthur b.1896. In 1911, they lived at 31, Noel Street, Kimberley. Like his brother Arthur, Thomas worked in a coal mine.
Military History
Arthur Langley enlisted at Nottingham and first entered a theatre of war on 1st April 1915 in Egypt. He died in the Military Hospital at Lichfield on 23rd October 1918. His body was returne for burial at St Patrick's churchyard, Nuthall.
