George Samuel Gaunt Richardson was baptised on 21st February 1883 at St Peters Church, Belper, he was the son of the late John Edward a wheelwright smith and Sarah E Richardson née Redfern
His father John Edward was born in 1862 at Wilford, Nottinghamshire he died in 1906 at Nottingham he was 54 yrs of age, his mother Sarah E Redfern was born in 1864 at Belper, they were married prior to 1883 they went on to have 11 children.
In the 1901 census the family are living at 79 St Matthias Road, Nottingham,
In the 1911 census his widowed mother Sarah 47 yrs no occupation listed, is living with her children, Ethel 22 yrs a lace net mender, Lizzie 21 yrs a lace net mender, Mabel 19 yrs a sewing machinist, Jack 17 yrs an apprentice mechanic, Sidney 15 yrs an apprentice printer, Rose 13 yrs an errand girl for a blouse manufacturerer and Tom 11 yrs a scholar.
George Samuel was the husband of Sarah Annie Mount (born 16th April 1883) they were married in 1907 at Nottingham, and the father of George Kenneth Richardson born 6th March 1910
In 1911 they lived at 63, Victory Road Beeston Nottinghamshire and later 46, Victory Road.
Lance Corporal George Samuel Gaunt Richardson enlisted at Beeston, Nottingham, he served with the 11th battalon Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he died on 23rd October 1918 aged 35 yrs, he is buried : Highland Cemetery, Le Cateau, France. Plot 4. Row D. Grave 10.
