Family History
He was the son of William and Eliza Cowlishaw and the brother of Joe, Mary Ann and Maria Cowlishaw. In 1891, they lived at 123/121, King James Street, Nether Hallam, Sheffield. In 1901, he lodged with his aunt Elizabeth Hood at 77, Grammar Street, Nether Hallam. In 1902, he married Florence Hartley at Sheffield and they had two children Florence and John Thomas Cowlishaw. In 1911, they lived at 62, Lower Regent Street, Beeston Nottingham. Florence later lived at 91, High Road, Beeston.
