He was the son of Albert and Maude Price and the brother of Joan and Geoffrey Price of 29,Babbington Lane, Swingate, Nottinghamshire.

Halifax II JB787 took off 2154 25 July 1943 from Graveley. Hit by Flak and partially abandoned crashing in the target area. There were four fatalities: Price (W/Op) + DE Killick (FE), NAJ Pearce (N), GM Galbraith (AG). Three crew members survived to become POWs: D Milmine (P), RE Bates (AB), SH Piper (AG).
705 aircraft - 294 Lancasters, 221 Halifaxes, 104 Stirlings, 67 Wellingtons & 19 Mosquitoes attacked Essen during this raid. 26 aircraft (3.7% of the attacking force) were lost. 12 35 Sqdn planes participated with 11 returning. The raid caused extensive damage to the eastern, industrial areas of Essen. The Krupps armaments works suffered its most damaging raid of the war. The next morning, according to Middlebrook and Everitt, ' Doktor Gustav Krupp had a stgroke from which he never recovered; this saved him from being charged with war crimes after the war.' 51 other industrial buildings were destroyed along with 2,852 houses. 500 people were killed including 131 foreign workers and 42 prisoners of war.
