Edward Pauley

Edward John Pauley (junior) was born on 4th August 1878 at Stamford, Lincolnshire. He was the son of Edward James Pauley (senior) a dealer and hawker and Martha Kirby of Stamford.

His father Edward John Pauley was born in 1848 at Sutton in Northamptonshire, his mother Martha Kirby in 1848 at Stamford. They were married on 25th December 1869 at Stamford Barton, Northamptonshire a d they went on to have 6 children.

In the 1911 census his family are living at 12 Malting Yard, Water Street, Stamford, EdwardJohn 62 yrs is a dealer and hawker he is living with his wife Marta 62 yrs and their married daughter Mary Jane Sharp 34 yrs and her children,, Flossie Sharp 11 yrs, Joseph Sharp 9 yrs, Doris Sharp 7 yrs Ida Sharp 6 yrs Maude Sharp 3 yrs and Olive Sharp 11 months old, also living with them is an unmarried daughter Elizabeth Pauley 26 yrs.

He was the husband of Susannah (Susan ) Francis born 1877 at Twywell, Northamptonshire. They were married in 1902 at Stamford. They lived at 8, Babbington, Strelley and had 6 children, Ethel Elizabeth born 1902, Doris Selena born 1904, Edward John born 1905, Florence Annie born 1907, Percy William born 1910 and Stanley Matthew born 1916. All were born at Stamford. Susannah died in Nottinghamshire in 1947 aged 70.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 10 Malting Yard, Water Street, Stamford, Edward Pauley (junior) 32 yrs is a labourer in a timber yard, he is living with his wife Sussannah 33 yrs and their children, Ethel 8 yrs, Doris 7 yrs, Edward 5 yrs Florrie 3 yrs and William 8 yrs of age.

They later lived at Main Road, Strelley and 8 Babbington, Strelley.
