The 155th (Lanarkshire Yeomanry) Field Regiment RA and its attached Royal Corps of Signals section officially went into suspended animation in February 1942 after being captured by Japanese forces following the fall of Singapore. By January 1945, the men of this unit were enduring harsh conditions as prisoners of war (POWs) in the Far East, with some personnel recorded passing away in captivity during that month.
