His death was reported in the Nottingham Journal of May 1st 1947: 'RADCLIFFE CRASH Beeston Man s Fatal Injuries As the result of the saloon car in which he was riding overturning on the Nottingham-Grantham road near Radcliffe at 12.30 this morning, Eric Frith, of 32, Coventry Road, Beeston, received injuries from which he died almost immediately. The driver, Herbert Farrand (22), or Braemar, Town Street, Bramcote, received slight injuries.'(via WWR Simon and rafcommands.com)
