Miles Master DL938 16 SFTS RAF Newton pilot F/O Tadeusz Szwede dived from 50ft into the ground, hitting a building at RAF Newton during an air-test and burnt out. Also killed was his passenger, Sgt William Henry Brown, engine fitter buried Leicester Gilroes cemetery.
