He was the son of George William and Ada Mary Rogers and the brother of George and Ada Rogers. In 1939, they lived on Kerwood Central Drive, Basildon, Essex.

According to WR Chorley (Bomber Command Losses vol 8 p.42) this aircraft 'came down at Cromwell 4 miles NNW of Newark) at approximately 17.45 following an uncontrollable fire in the port outer engine.'
