He was the son of George Arthur and Annie Hall and the brother of Frances Hall. In 1939, they lived at 218, Quinton Road, Birmingham.

According to WR Chorley (Bomber Command Losses vol 8 p.42) this aircraft 'came down at Cromwell 4 miles NNW of Newark) at approximately 17.45 following an uncontrollable fire in the port outer engine.'
