He was the son of William James Howard Adams and Mabel Katherine Adams and the brother of Joan K Adams. In 1939, they livd at 49, Greenbank Road, Liverpool.

According to WR Chorley (Bomber Command Losses vol 8 p.42) this aircraft 'came down at Cromwell 4 miles NNW of Newark) at approximately 17.45 following an uncontrollable fire in the port outer engine.'
