Milan

199 Lancaster including eight from Langar attacked Milan 15th/16th August 1943. The weather was fine but smoke from the previous night’s action left the skies hazy. Between 00.08 and 00.17 Langar crews bombed from 14,500 to 18,000 feet. German night fighters lay in wait over France but it was coastal flak which destroyed ED498.
