Cislago

Four crews from Langar were amongst 18 aircraft deployed to attack two transformer stations in Italy. The target was twenty miles north-west of Milan and close to the Swiss frontier. It is unclear whether DV183 completed its attack before crashing in the target area.

Lancaster III DV183 took off 2232 16 July 1943 from Langar. Those killed are buried in Milano War cemetery. There were six fatalities: LE Stubbs (P), RC Mitchell (FE), AH Coates (N), E Mawson (AB), RM Furman (AG), W O’Brien (AG). Eric Morris (W/Op) survived and evaded capture.
